RomaOstia Half Marathon 2027Race-week travel for a point-to-point half

Start in Rome, finish by the sea. A point-to-point race needs a plan for both ends, and that’s the part we take care of.

About this race

About RomaOstia Half Marathon 2027

The RomaOstia Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 28 February 2027, and registration was open at our last check. It is one of Italy’s best-known half marathons and has a simple, distinctive shape: recent editions started in Rome’s EUR district and ran point-to-point down Via Cristoforo Colombo to finish near the seafront in Ostia.

A point-to-point course is fast to run and harder to plan. You start in one place and finish somewhere else, so race morning, bag drop and the trip back all need thinking through. Our source calendar also noted that the organizer’s hotel-partner logistics have included early breakfast, late checkout, transfers and luggage storage, which shows how much race-day timing matters here.

Visterra Runs plans the trip around both ends of the course: where to stay, how you get to the start, and how you get back to your hotel after the finish.

Race week in Rome–Ostia: what to plan for

Plan both ends of the course

Our recommendation is to decide before you book how you will get from the finish back to your stay. We map that against the official post-race transport information once it’s published.

Checkout timing

With a morning race and a finish away from the start, late checkout or luggage storage can matter. We confirm what your stay allows in writing.
