Malta Half Marathon 2027Race-week travel for registered and waitlisted runners
A point-to-point island half from a medieval hilltop city down to the sea. If you have an entry or a waitlist spot, we will plan the trip around it.
About Malta Half Marathon 2027
The Malta Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 28 February 2027. The half was sold out at our last check, with an official waitlist, so this page is for runners who already hold an entry or are on that official waitlist.
Malta’s course has a shape you rarely get: recent editions started outside the walls of Mdina, the island’s old hilltop capital, and ran point-to-point down to finish at the coast in Sliema. That makes it mostly downhill. It is fast on paper, but the descent is something to train for.
As an island destination, Malta usually means connecting through another European airport and planning your race-morning transfer to a start inland. Visterra Runs organizes that around your entry, and we wait to commit travel for waitlisted runners until their entry is confirmed.

Race week in Malta: what to plan for
Start inland, finish by the sea
With a point-to-point course, our recommendation is to decide early whether to stay near the finish and transfer to the start, or the reverse. We weigh that against official race transport.
Visterra recommendationConnect through Europe
Most routes from the Americas connect in another European city. We help you leave a buffer before race day.
Visterra recommendationWaitlisted? Wait to book
If you are on the official waitlist, we can plan options but recommend not committing non-refundable travel until your entry is confirmed.
