Osaka runs through the middle of the city. Recent editions started near the Osaka Prefectural Government Building and finished in Osaka Castle Park, passing landmarks such as Midōsuji Avenue on a route with only modest elevation change. It is a big-city race with strong local crowd support.
For runners from the Americas, Japan means a long-haul flight and a large time difference, which makes arrival day and the first nights’ sleep part of race preparation.
