ASICS Los Angeles Marathon 2027Race-week travel for a point-to-point LA course

From Dodger Stadium to Century City in one run across Los Angeles. In a city this spread out, where you stay and how you get to the start decide how easy race morning is.

About this race

About Los Angeles Marathon 2027

The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon takes place on Sunday 7 March 2027. It is organized by The McCourt Foundation, which showed general marathon registration as available at our last check.

The organizer describes the course as running “from Stadium to the Stars.” The race starts at Dodger Stadium and finishes in Century City at Santa Monica Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars, crossing the city’s neighborhoods and landmarks along the way. Because it is point-to-point, the start and finish are miles apart, in a city where getting around normally depends on cars.

That is the real planning question for travelling runners: do you stay close to the finish and solve the trip to the stadium, or stay near the start and solve the return? Visterra Runs plans that around race morning, along with arrival through one of the area’s airports and companion plans for spectators. Note that the LA Charity Half Marathon on the same date is a fundraising entry run by the organizer. This page covers the marathon.

Race week in Los Angeles: what to plan for

Choose your end of the course

With the start and finish miles apart, our recommendation is to decide first whether race morning or the post-race return should be the simple part, then choose your stay. We check the official race-day transport information before you book.

Visterra recommendation

Don’t rely on driving on race morning

Road closures across the city change normal routes. We build a timed plan to Dodger Stadium from the organizer’s official race-day guidance.
