About Barcelona Marathon 2027
The Zurich Marató Barcelona takes place on Sunday 14 March 2027, and registration was open at our last check. It is a separate event from the Barcelona Half Marathon in February, with its own date, course and race-week rhythm.
In recent editions the marathon started and finished on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, between Plaça d’Espanya and Montjuïc, and passed many of the city’s best-known landmarks, including the Sagrada Família and the seafront. It is a full city tour on wide avenues and draws a large international field.
For runners from the Americas, the work is the transatlantic arrival and getting used to European time, then a base that makes the Plaça d’Espanya start easy. Visterra Runs plans those around race morning, with bilingual EN/ES support.
