Why isn't the flight included in the package?

This way, you avoid paying for a flight you may not need if you have points or a better fare elsewhere.
How does the $599 deposit work?
Tu pago inicial de $619 USD immediately secures your official race entry for the marathon and reserves your premium room. These amounts are non-refundable due to our providers’ policies (hotels and event organizers), but they are transferable to another person or another Visterra Runs marathon within the following 12 months if you cannot attend.
When do I pay the remaining balance?
21 days before the event. At that point, we coordinate your flight if you requested assistance, confirm the hotel, and schedule transfers. After this point, the package is no longer refundable.
Do I need a passport or visa?
Portland y Honolulu (USA): you only need official identification (driver’s license or Real ID). No passport, no visa.
Medellín and Buenos Aires: you need a passport valid for at least six months after travel. If you are a U.S. citizen or resident, you do not need a visa for either destination. Before the flight, there are online immigration forms (Check-MIG Colombia, AR Argentina form) that are free, and we help you complete them upon request.
How do you help me with the flight if I request assistance?
When booking the package, select the “Flight assistance” option. We ask for your departure airport (LAX, SFO, SAN, OAK, SJC), flexible dates, and budget. En 48 horas we send you 2–3 flight options by WhatsApp so you can choose. You pay the airline directly with your card — we only manage the search, with no extra commission.
What happens if I get injured or sick before the trip?
We recommend purchasing travel insurance with cancellation coverage (we can help you find one). Without insurance, the deposit is non-refundable, but you can transfer your package to another person or use the credit for another one of our marathons within the following 12 months.
Can I travel with a companion who is not running?
Yes, absolutely. Contact us when booking, and we can build a companion package with shared hotel, transfers, and welcome dinner (without marathon entry). The price is lower because it does not include the official entry.
What payment method do you accept?
Aceptamos PayPal y tarjetas Visa/Mastercard internationally with secure encrypted processing. After booking, we send you a personalized payment link by WhatsApp or email so you can complete your $599 USD deposit from your account.
